In Pakistan and India, the prevalence of refractive error blindness was :

0.20% of all age groups,

1.06% of age 40 and above. 5

In a Chinese population aged 50 and above, the prevalence of refractive error blindness was 0.59% (definition VAɞ/60). 5

In Nigeria, a survey of 1469 people aged 11-83 in two rural communities, the prevalence of refractive error blindness was 2.13%.

In the USA, age 40 and above, prevalence of refractive error blindness (definition of blindness as presenting VAɞ/60) was 0.33% among blacks, and 0.24% among whites. 6
