Slide 4 AN EIGHT-DAY MISSION
This model is an example of a small mission. Some missions have as many as 75 volunteers and some have less than five. The number of patients examined is based on a 10-minute exam an 8-hour workday and a five-day week.
If the team is required to pack up and move to another village, the number of examinations is less. VOSH teams also have, opticians, ophthalmologists, medical personnel, and trained laypersons. In 2002, VOSH/International completed 90 missions and examined 140,000 patients.
